With immediate effect all .CO.ZA domain names registered or transferred from today, the 24th of Feburary 2012, will no longer be billed by DigiServ for the initial registration and subsequent annual renewal fees.

We will continue to submit the registration or tranfser request on behalf of the domain owner to the .CO.ZA registry, however we will no longer handle the registration/renewal fees for the domain owner. Starting from today the domain owner will be billed directly by UniForum SA for the initial registration cost and subsequent annual renewal fees.

Going forth, the domain owner is responsible for settling the registration/renewal fees directly with the .CO.ZA registry (UniForum SA) as well as following up on any payment issues.

In accordance with this policy change we have decreased our .CO.ZA registration fees from R149 to 1 cent. By passing the savings onto the domain owner we believe this will make .CO.ZA domain names more affordable during these difficult economic times while allowing domain owners more freedom in managing their domain names with the registry.

The cost to the customer from UniForum SA is R50 per year (a R99 reduction from our previous registration price). The domain owner will also now be listed as the Billing and Technical contact, in addition to the Registrant and Admin contact on the domain WHOIS. We will therefore not be listed as a domain name contact on the domain name, we are confident that our Resellers will welcome this change and utilize our registration/transfer service offering a true White Label service.

.CO.ZA domain names registered or transferred before today will still be billed by us for the annual renewal until we can transfer all domain WHOIS contact details over to the domain owner. This process will start today however due to the large amount of .CO.ZA domains we currently handle this process will take a long time to complete.

We thank you for co-operation.
