It is also best suitable for customers who do not have the time and/or technical skills to manage their own hosting accounts such as the hosting control panel, FTP, creating email accounts as well as updating and securing your web applications.

What does Managed Shared Hosting include?

Managed shared hosting includes all of the support you would regularly get with our shared hosting services along with extra support focused on website owners tho don't want to spend time managing the details of their site or need assistance with some more technical aspects of hosting. What this means to you is that you don't have to worry about your hosting service, how to configure it or even create your email accounts in your control panel. We monitor your service and provide complete assistance to from end-to-end.

Managed Shared Hosting provides support of all items listed below. For any needed upgrades to scripts, open source web apps, etc., we recommend that you allow our Managed Shared Hosting support team to perform them for you. We will be able to monitor the installation/upgrade and correct any issues that may arise. You can rest easy knowing that your website is well taken care of.

    Provides for data back-up and recovery, unlimited restores without the normal R149.00 restore fee and includes priority over other restores in the queue

  • Making changes in the control panel
    DigiServ supports and assists the customer with all cPanel functions including managing domains, redirects, e-mail accounts, spam filters, etc.
  • Installation and upgrades of many open-source web apps (i.e WordPress, Drupal, Joomla)
  • Additional exploit protection for WordPress and Joomla
  • Assistance with web editing software
    Configuring design tools like Dreamweaver and show the client how to publish the site using those web editing tools
  • Two hours each month of administration time **
  • Assistance with e-mail programs (i.e. Outlook, Thunderbird)
  • Overall management keeping your site running well

How much does Managed Shared Hosting cost?

Managed shared hosting costs R349 per month (incl. VAT) in addition to your regular shared hosting cost. If you decide after a couple of months of utilizing this service that you don't need it any longer, just let us know and we will remove the feature for you. On any given month if you exceed your 2 hour limit of administration time, with your approval, DigiServ will continue working to resolve your issues at a discounted rate of R425/hour, billable in 15 minute increments.

How do I get started with Shared Managed Hosting?

Just sign up with any of our shared hosting plans and indicate in the comments that you'd like to add the managed shared service. If you need help deciding on a plan or would like to speak with us, please feel free to contact us. We'll guide you through the process and get you started in no time!

How do I add Managed Shared Hosting to my service?

Simply contact our customer support team and indicate that you'd like to add the Managed Shared service. We will add the service to your account. You may also add this service through your client area under Addons. For new account orders, please be sure to check this option during the checkout process.

What if I have more than one domain on my account?

Managed Shared Hosting covers your entire account up to a maximum of five domains. If you have more than five domains that you need assistance with we can add them as well. The cost is only R50.00 per month per extra domain.

* If your website is currently containing exploited or injected code, and/or is discovered to be once we add the Managed Shared service on your account, there will be a minimum of 6 hours of administrative time required by DigiServ in order to remove the exploited or injected code. You are provided 2 hours at no cost per month and therefore only responsible for the remaining 4 hours. Payment for the remaining 4 hours must be made prior to any removal of your code. This is a nonrefundable fee.

** Please note that basic design and development does not include redesigns of websites, custom coding, Flash, SEO, SEM, search engine submission, shopping cart management (including product, plugin and custom configurations), 3rd party, non-compatible or outdated plugin/module/component troubleshooting, ASP/JSP/PHP/Javascript coding, converting databases (MSSQL to MySQL or vice-versa), site transfers (new customers must qualify for site transfer), and custom graphic editing. If you are interested in having us help redesign your website, or need assistance with any of the aforementioned services, we are able to offer this service at R500 per hour (incl. VAT). Managed Shared Hosting includes simple text/css changes, image troubleshooting/relocating, checking website code for validity and installing/uninstalling scripts through Softaculous.
